What’s your Hot Passion and can you turn it into a living?

What’s your hot passion and can you make a living from it?

And I don’t mean that type of passion …

We live in exciting times. The internet and our increased connectivity means there are increased options to chase your passion and make a living from it.

What do I mean?

The internet allows a whole range of people to build a business online or use the net to promote themselves. Everybody from fitness coaches, to internet marketers, to photographers, to authors, to adventurers are leveraging the net to pursue their passion.

Hot stuff, right?

I am currently interviewing people for a book on how people are having online success.

What is clear is that there are many people turning their passion into a business or career. But there are also a lot of people whose passion does not in effect translate into a viable business or career.
So be warned.

You might be passionate about watching baseball, but how could you make a business or career out of it?

HOT ONLINE PLAYERS
What is clear is there are people out their turning their passion into viable online businesses.

Take videographer Phil Ebiner. He’s had success running online courses in video making and in teaching course creation.

Take Yaro Starak. What started as a blog written for fun about a decade ago has morphed into a viable online business – only taking a few hours a day.

Take woodworker Greg Klassen. Only by chance did a video of his cool-looking “river tables” catch on and go viral. Now he has more custom table work than he can handle – including a full suite of furniture for an Arab sheik.

Take former professional wrestler Diamond Dallas Page. His online business selling dynamic yoga courses went viral after one customer, Arthur, made a phenomenal change and the video of it went viral.

What is interesting with these examples is that success online came almost by accident to these people. They initially did not think their efforts would lead to a good monthly income.

Many of the players having success online that I have been interviewing for my book found online success by slipping into it and learning to harness the net as their business grew.

They are using the net more deliberately now to continue to scale their online businesses.

THE ONLINE REVOLUTION
This is what is so exciting about the opportunities available now to build a business online. Many of today’s long running success stories came about by chance. But if you have a good idea that you want to develop into an online business, you can be much more deliberate about it – and get training in how to do it.

Here is some great training that will help teach you how to start a business online – CHECK HERE.
In addition, if you started an online business 10 or 15 years ago, you might have had to struggle with a lot of tech issues. Today, there are a lot more options available to help automate the process. If you throw your hands up in horror over things being too “techy” there are now easier ways to get set up and running.

WHAT’S YOUR HOT PASSION?
Okay, okay – when I say passion I don’t mean that sort of passion!

Having a passion or developing a passion is crucial for success online in part because you need to be enthusiastic on a day-to-day basis to weather the ups and downs inherent in running an online business.

There are a number of ways to turn passion into an online business, but two main approaches stand out.

Firstly, you could take your skills, knowledge and experience and package them to sell products and services online. A fitness instructor might put together fitness video training courses. A financial expert my sell ebooks and guides about how to save and manage personal finance. A software designer might sell software products that can be downloaded from the internet. An author might sell online courses on how to write books and how to market them.

Secondly, you might want to piggy-back on the success of others by becoming an affiliate marketer, selling other people’s products for a commission. This is a good entry point into the online business world because the initial focus would be on marketing and selling the products – without actually having to make the products, handle the payment system, or provide tech support.

In time you might transition from selling other people’s products to selling your own. But at the start, affiliate marketing could be a viable option – SEE HERE. There are people earning five, six or even seven figures annually selling other people’s products.

That said, passion helps big time – even if you are selling other people’s products.
What do I mean?

Don’t believe the claims in some online adverts that claim you can have an online business up and running in just 30 minutes a day with little effort making big bucks. If it sounds too good to be true, it is.

In order to have success in affiliate marketing it helps substantially to get passionate about building your online business. If you are merely intent on making some fast cash, then chances are you will be disappointed.

If you involved in affiliate marketing, it is crucial to develop a passion for it and recognize this is a medium-to-long-term game. To build a successful online business selling products online – other people’s products or your own – you need to be passionate about it and commit to the process, recognizing you will have your ups and downs – failures but also hopefully some success.

Passion matters – whether selling your own products and services or selling other people’s products for a commission.
