MAUI TRAINING 2 – Follow the system, stupid!

One thing I learnt from the four-day intensive workshop I attended on the beautiful island on Maui, Hawaii earlier this month was the wisdom of following a system and not trying to reinvent the wheel when it comes to building a viable business online.

A growing number of people are jumping online to try to sell products and services and one of the best ways to get started is to sell other people’s products for a commission – affiliate marketing.

STICK TO THE SYSTEM
If you are seeking to build a business online, whether it is selling your own products and services or acting as an affiliate marketer, selling other people’s products, it is best to follow systems that work.

In the internet marketing space, there are a growing number of products that are “education products” – they teach people how to build an online business.

Check out THIS SYSTEM as an example.

Those who don’t understand marketing online or think it is all a scam might roll their eyes when they hear of a product that teaches people to work online. This is typical of the family and friends of wannabe marketers who get ribbed for trying to make a buck online.

But there are good programs and systems out there that provide the building blocks and training necessary to build a business online.

IGNORING ‘SHINY OBJECTS’
If you have been in the online space for any period of time, you will have heard about the problem of buying shiny objects – the latest big-whizz big-bang idea to make a ton of green ones online.

New shiny objects come out every day promising the world but often failing to deliver.

Not all IM products are bad – don’t get me wrong. There are good products out there, particularly if the product is used as directed. But often people get overwhelmed by all the “opportunities” that come their way.

FINDING GOOD PRODUCTS
It is therefore wise if you are looking to build an online business to try to find a product and system that looks like it works – if the training and instruction is followed faithfully.

If you buy an online business training product, it is important to follow the system faithfully. Don’t go off on a tangent. Stick with the system.

On face value, this sounds obvious.

But you would be surprised how many buy online training products and fail to follow the system and give it a good try.

Sometimes it comes down to the problem of wanting a quick fix – getting good results quickly.
This seldom happens, even with good products.

You have to put in time and effort to give online training products a chance to work.
Forget the quick fix. It seldom if ever happens.

So the message here is try to find a good product, go through the training, follow the system, and stick with it.

Stay tuned for more insight in my coming posts.
