Why The Screams? – Online business is getting easier
A sea-change is underway in the internet marketing space. Building a business online is getting noticeably easier.
During the two decades or so that I have been following developments in the online space, it is clear that we have entered a new era where entry into the online space is just a few mouse-clicks away.
The implications of this are both good and bad.

THE BRICKS-&-MORTAR VS ONLINE CHALLENGE
Let me explain.
Picture this – If you wanted to set up a bricks-and-mortar business, you would have to go through a number of hoops, not least the need to obtain substantial funding, going cap in hand to your bank manager, providing a detailed business plan, and sleepless nights hoping beyond hope that your baby will grow into a viable business.
Those who run “real businesses” understand this.
Thanks to the internet, a new world awaits anybody who wants to better their lot.
Today, with a few clicks of your mouse and paying $1, you can get in at the ground floor to begin building an online business.
Okay, sure, you need to subscribe to certain services, such as webhosting, an autoresponder, an analytics tracker, and possibly upgrading to a higher ticket product if you are promoting affiliate products, but with little initial effort you have the world at your finger-tips.
It tends to be far easier to get an online business up and running that a typical bricks-and-mortar business.
This is all fine and dandy.
NEW WAVE PRODUCTS
The newbie online business owner is now getting spoilt for choice when it comes to two important aspects of building a business online:
Firstly, the new wave of products are allowing people to more effectively and speedily work on their online business.
Better page builders, new webinar options, and new platforms – such as Kartra and the Power Lead System – make it easier for newbies to gain traction.
A lot of new products automate or help speed up certain processes.
Secondly, there are an increasing number of courses and training that can help newbies build the knowledge and skills necessary to get up and running. Just as examples there is the training provided by the Super Affiliate Network, the Wealth Academy, and the Top Gun Academy that provide top rate guidance and mentorship.
All the tools and training is there for a complete newbie to pick up and make the transition into a seasoned online business owner.
At least in theory.
THE DARK SIDE
Personally, I get overjoyed by the arrival of new products and training that help me more effectively run my online business, which in broad terms aims to help people leverage the internet for success in building a business online or promoting their career.
But because I am in the trenches interacting with companies, systems and a host of dedicated online marketers, I get to see the “dark side” of the world of online opportunity.
And I am saddened by it.
Now let’s be clear – Darth Vader does not lurk here. But there is an equally insidious force that muddies the online space.
ENTITLEMENT AND SEEKING QUICK FIXES
That force is one of entitlement and quick fixes.
Many training course and product owners are inundated with complaints from online newbies who expect a quick fix and results provided to them on a plate.
According to at least one online company representatives, a significant number of those complaints and call for refunds include a heavy dose of bad language.
This attitude may be one of the prime reasons behind the often quoted statistic that 97 percent of people who try to build a business online fail at it.
Whether or not 97 percent is a guesstimate or not does not hide the fact that there are an awful lot of people who think access to making an income online should be a push-button solution.
But there are no quick fixes. If there were, everybody who jumps online could become a millionaire.
SORTING THE WHEAT FROM THE CHAFF
We are still in the early pioneering days of business opportunity through the internet.
In many ways, we are seeing the wheat separated from the chaff.
Those with the guts and determination and a clear “why” are more likely to turn into success stories than the whingers who expect a free lunch.
So where do you stand?
